- excursions: a short journey made for pleasure
- Sydney Opera House: a famous building in Sydney
- disappointed: unhappy because what was hoped or wished for did not happen.
- cleanliness: the state of being clean or the habit of keeping things clean
- several: more than two or three in number
- blinds: a device in a window to screen out light or give privacy within.
- mould: a furry growth fungi occurring typically in moist warm conditions, especially on food or other organic matter. (see picture)
- to roam / to wander: to walk or travel around an area without any definite aim or direction
- lodge: a hotel or inn
- bunk beds: one of two beds that are fixed together, one above the other
- filthy: very dirty and unpleasant
- plumbing: the system of water and sewerage pipes in a building
- dodgy: of low quality
- facilities: services that are provided
- pathetic: weak and not successful
- cockroach: large brown insect that lives in houses, especially where there is dirt
- equipped: to have the things that are needed

Expressing likes and dislikes
To talk about your likes and dislikes, you can use the following expressions:

Examples of likes and dislikes :
I'm mad about the seaside, but I can’t bear getting sand in my socks
I adore reading poetry, but I loathe doing the poetry homework.
If you neither like nor dislike something:
"I don't mind doing the homework."
Things to remember about likes and dislikes:
1. When these expressions are followed by a verb, the latter is put in the -ing form.
VERB+ING
Examples:
"I like eating foreign food."
"I hate wearing sunglasses."
"I dislike waiting for my flight."
2. Note that" very much" & " a lot" always come after the things you like.
Examples:
"I like shopping very much/a lot.
NOT: " I like very much/a lot shopping."
